I have always enjoyed owning, managing and training animals, including numerous breeds of dogs, horses, cattle (yes, I have trained some of my cattle),  pigs (they are the smartest next to horses), sheep (definitely the dumbest) and a few feathered friends.  However, dogs (Golden Retrievers in particular), are still my favorite!

I purchased my first Golden Retriever, a nine month old male, in 1982.  I enrolled "Shane" in an obedience class, at the local Community College.  Shane completed all three obedience titles, CD, CDX, UD and managed to win a few Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH) points along the way.  He also won titles in Hunt Tests, Field and Agility.  Shane was the Anchor Dog on one of the first Flyball Teams in the Houston area, finishing all three titles in style: Flyball Dog, Flyball Dog Excellent, and Flyball Dog Champion.

When Shane was nine years old, he was in a six week on-stage production of ANNIE, starring as " Sandy", Little Orphan Annie's dog.  On the third day after the production closed, Shane was stolen from my backyard,. All the gates were locked and the other dogs were left in the yard untouched.  One of the two dogs was a male golden retriever puppy named "Style" and the rest is history.
